В 1997 году в честь юбилея городского звания «Посланец мира», серп и молот на гербе заменили на летящего голубя. В 2003 году решением горсобрания голубь улетел. В 2005 исчезли чай с лавром. Солнце сократилось до минимальных размеров. И символично вместе с санаториями исчез девиз «Здоровье — народу».
