Далее все по стандарту: праздничный концерт перед администрацией и салют. На концерте можно было увидеть часы, открывающие лето и двойников Верки Сердючки, Софии Ротару, и Майкла Джексона.
1 мая 2013 года. Администрация решили расправиться сразу с двумя праздниками: открытие летнего сезона и День весны и труда. Открытие летнего сезона отметили под лозунгом «Лови свое лето!». Традиционное шествие от Зимнего театра и не менее традиционный концерт на площади у Южного мола, который продлился всего два часа, завершившись салютом. В городе на тот момент велись масштабные строительные работы перед Олимпийскими играми, поэтому в Сочи закрывали глаза на не совсем курортный облик.
17 мая 2014 года. Город торжественно встретил летний сезон вместе с Владимиром Путиным, который в эти дни гостил в своей резиденции «Бочаров Ручей». Старт сезона администрация решила подогнать под прибытие в город участников международной регаты учебных судов. Все жители и гости города могли бесплатно посетить известные учебные парусники: Крузенштерн», «Седов», «Надежда» и «Мир». Также в этот день состоялся массовый забег «Миля здоровья», флешмоб в скейт-парке, «Ночь музеев», традиционный парад и, конечно, салют и концерт на Южном моле.

В центре города прошел праздничный карнавал (видео), который местами смотрелся несколько инородно, но все же лучше, чем традиционные концерты вроде «Славься Сочи». Но все же вытянул открытие сезона Олимпийский парк, где прошло авиашоу «Олимпийское небо» (видео) и открылся новый скейт-парк.
